Understanding & Configuring the "Contact Created" Trigger
The "Contact Created" trigger automatically starts a workflow whenever a new contact is created in Exabloom.
By default, this trigger will activate for any new contact. However, in most cases, you'll want to apply filters to control when the workflow should actually run.
Common Configurations
1️⃣ Triggering Only for WhatsApp Lead Capture
If your WhatsApp is connected to Exabloom, a new contact (one that doesn’t already exist in Exabloom) will be automatically created when they send you a message.
To ensure that the workflow only runs for contacts created this way, you can use a filter:
✅ Only trigger when the contact has the tag "whatsapp-lead-capture"
Why use this filter?
- This prevents manually created contacts from triggering the workflow.
- It ensures that only leads captured via WhatsApp enter this workflow.
2️⃣ Filtering for Testing Purposes
When testing your workflow, you may want only your own phone number to trigger it.
To do this, set a filter:
✅ Only trigger when the contact’s phone number matches your own (ensure there are no spaces and no plus sign in the number).
By properly configuring the "Contact Created" trigger with filters, you can ensure that your workflow only runs for relevant contacts, improving efficiency and automation accuracy. 🚀
