Resolve "Phone Number Not Eligible" Error

Meta requires a minimum activity history on a phone number before it can be connected to the WhatsApp Business Platform via Coexistence. New numbers and recently-registered ones are blocked until they meet this threshold.

The error

While connecting your number under Settings > Social Channels > Whatsapp Business, Meta's embedded signup flow returns:

Your phone number isn't eligible to connect to the WhatsApp Business Platform. More activity on the WhatsApp Business App is needed to help determine eligibility.

Why it happens

Meta evaluates a number's standing on the WhatsApp Business App before allowing it to join the Business Platform. The number must show at least 7 days of active use on the WhatsApp Business App — sending and receiving messages with real contacts — before it qualifies.

This typically blocks:

  • Numbers that were registered on the WhatsApp Business App less than 7 days ago.
  • Numbers that have the WhatsApp Business App installed but show very little messaging activity.
  • Numbers whose WhatsApp Business App was recently reinstalled or moved to a new device.

Resolve it

  1. Keep using the WhatsApp Business app on the phone as you normally would — exchange messages with real contacts, not just test conversations.

  2. Wait at least 7 days from the number's first active use on the WhatsApp Business App.

  3. Return to Settings > Social Channels in Exabloom, click Connect next to Whatsapp Business, and retry the connection flow.

If the error persists after 7 days

  • Confirm the number is sending and receiving messages daily on the WhatsApp Business App, not just installed.
  • Make sure the WhatsApp Business App on the phone is up to date.
  • Wait a few more days and retry — Meta's eligibility check can lag actual usage.
